was born in Seoul/Korea. After a BA in Product Design at Free University of Bolzano (I) with an additional specialisation on photography, she took a classical flute degree and a MA for New Music and Technologies at Conservatorio C. Monteverdi in Bolzano, and studied composition and Sonic Art at Berlin University of the Arts (GER), where she also completed her PhD in musicology in 2014.
She received research scholarships from Leo Baeck Institute in New York (USA) (2009), a DAAD grant for research at IRCAM/Paris (FR) and Berkeley (USA) (2011), and the Elsa Neumann grant of Berlin for young academics research (GER) (2011-2013).
Besides, her sound installations and compositions have been showed at several festivals and she performed in various improvisation-based contexts, e.g. 11/2009 “International EMU Festival”, Rom (I), 12/2009 “10th birthday series”, Leicester (GB), 04/2010 Festival “Other looks”, S. In 2013 she co-founded the Berlin based ensemble Continuous Variation.
She published several musicological papers as well as artistic articles.
Since December 2015, she works as lecturer at Bayreuth University in the field of media schience. Additional, she works as a freelance musician, sound and conceptual artist.
Her research contributes to musicology and media science.
